Our Pastor

Reverend Wayne Vernon is an ordained Bishop of the Church of God since 1996 who has faithfully served in several ministry capacities in the Church of God in Jamaica, The Cayman Islands and Canada. His service spans from being Academic Dean and Lecturer of Bethel Bible College to being National Director of Youth and Christian Education for Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, Executive Council Member, District Overseer and Lead Pastor.
He commenced his theological education in 1983 at The Jamaica Theological Seminary. Upon graduation in 1987, with a B. A. in Theology, he was offered a scholarship to The Caribbean Graduate School of Theology where he earned a Masters Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with honors.
In Canada, Bishop Vernon has served as Consultant Dean for the International Bible College in Saskatchewan and Zone Coordinator for the Eastern Region Churches. He has also served as lead pastor of Fellowship of Love Community Church in Oshawa, District Bishop for the Oshawa District of churches, Lecturer at the International Training Institute, Humberlea Church of God; Regional Executive Council Chair and Member of the Church of God in Ontario; and currently serves as the Lead and District Pastor of the West Toronto Church of God.
His ministry has touched lives in countries like South Africa, United Kingdom, Cambodia, United States and the Caribbean. In many of these places he has proclaimed the Word of God and conducted leadership training conferences.
Bishop Vernon has been married to his wife Yvonne for thirty-two years and they are parents to Toni-Beth and Nathan; and grand parents to two beautiful granddaughters.
Rev. Vernon is passionate about the development of leaders in the body of Christ. He is an avid reader and is particularly interested in the growing phenomenon of global migration, its impact on cities and its implications for institutions such as the church.
