Missions is at the very heart of God

God is a Missionary God it is at the very Heart of His interest, the desire to win the lost. God’s desire is to restore fallen man back into fellowship with Himself. The motivation for missions on God’s part is a heart of love. The Gospel of John says: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16) KJV

The church has certain tasks commissioned to it by Jesus. It has been commissioned to tell the story of God’s mighty saving acts in Christ. God has been seeking to redeem man since he plunged into sin in the Garden of Eden. The Great Commission is the natural outflow of the nature of God’s character. Christianity is a missionary religion in its source and total design. The early disciples became missionaries because of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the spirit of Missions for the gospel to be preached to all men.

Our witness is not simply to get people to ‘come to church’. Our witness is to invite every person without Christ to receive Him as their personal Savior and Lord. It is based upon a heart of compassion for the lost and the realization that every person without Christ is at the gates of Hell and they must be saved. Until we discover deep in our heart that Hell is real and death is permanent, we will not comprehend the magnitude of the task and mission before us.

The world is looking for men and women of conviction about the Gospel. The world is looking for Christians who are not ashamed of the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives and be ‘led by the Spirit’ to be missionaries for Christ, in their homes, churches, communities and the world. When we boldly take a stand for our Lord, the world will be convinced of God’s power and love working through us.
